Georgetown Cupcakes

A few weekends ago I took a little trip to visit my brother and sister-in-law. They live in DC. Since it was my first time visiting them, I had to (obviously) get a cupcake at the famous Georgetown cupcakes shop! If you don't know about this bakery, it's run by two sisters and has a reality type show on TLC. Before actually tasting one, I wondered how good a cupcake could actually be...how could there be a 15+ minute line every day, ALL day long? What is all the hype about? Anyways, I got a coconut cupcake, and Tim got his favorite: red velvet.

So many cupcakes!

Well, I've been converted. I've never been much of a cake person, but these cupcakes are out of this world delicious. The frosting is unlike any other, and the actual cake part was the perfect heaviness and texture...not to mention the taste! Let it be known, Georgetown Cupcakes are worth the long line!

I JUST LOVE SUMMER SO MUCH

when mentioned, summer summons up fond memories of long days at the pool, owning the neighborhood with our walkie talkies and bikes, late night capture the flag, day camp, and BBQS.

look ma, i made it myself!

i forget the exact name, but basically it's spaghetti with grilled veggies and a tomato/olive sauce. topped with goat cheese.

PA's own

you haven't lived until you've had birch beer from amish country. i love pennsylvania.

breakfast for me

fresh fruit salad topped with vanilla greek yogurt.

summer salad

simply put. lettuce. green beans. potato. tuna. hard boiled eggs. olives. tomatos. homemade dressing.

fish taco night

fish tacos always seem to get a bad rap. maybe it's because of nasty long john silvers. or the school cafeteria smelly fish sandwiches. whatever the reason, i'm here to bust that myth that fish tacos are less than desirable. my mom's tilapia fish tacos are the bomb! add some avocado, spanish rice, and some saucy stuff, and voila! yumm-o
